Lovely is built on a foundation of trust. You are sharing sensitive, personal information about your relationship — and we take that responsibility seriously. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the full control you have over it.

Lovely Recap allows you to upload or take photos to capture memories and moments in your relationship. When you use this feature:
The Plan button within Lovely allows you to search for and plan activities, date nights, and experiences. This feature uses the Google Places API to provide location-based suggestions. Regarding location data:
Lovely uses third-party AI providers, specifically OpenAI and Anthropic, through their standard API services to power the Ask page gesture suggestions, and Plan button web search. Lovely uses these provider's standard commercial API terms; we do not have a custom enterprise data agreement with either provider.

How your data may be used by these providers: OpenAI and Anthropic process this data to generate responses within Lovely. Please refer to OpenAI's and Anthropic's own privacy policies for details on their respective data retention and usage practices, including any use of API data for model improvement, as these practices are determined by each provider and may be updated by them independently of Lovely.
Your control: AI is a core part of how Lovely works. Personalized suggestions, gesture ideas, and the Ask page all rely on these AI providers, so declining to share this data means Lovely's core features will not be available to you.
Lovely uses Mixpanel to collect data about how you use the app. This helps us improve features, fix problems, and make better product decisions. We may update specific data points we collect as the app evolves — any changes will remain consistent with this Policy.
What we collect through analytics:
We do not send the content of your conversations, partner profile notes, or any sensitive relationship context (including gender or household composition) to Mixpanel. Only actions are tracked, not what you write or share.
Your rights (California residents): You have the right to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information. To delete your data, go to Settings → Personal Information → Delete Account. For all other requests, contact privacy@getlovely.app. We respond within 45 days.
Retention: Analytics data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained for product improvement.
Third parties: Mixpanel receives analytics data solely to provide services to Lovely and is contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose. Mixpanel does not sell your data.
Apple App Store disclosures: Data collected and linked to your identity includes identifiers, usage data, purchase and subscription events, and diagnostics. None of this data is used for advertising.
We use your data only to make Lovely work for you. Specifically:
We do not use your data to serve ads. Lovely is a subscription product — your data is not our product.

If Lovely is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance if this occurs and your rights under this Policy will be maintained.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Lovely is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at privacy@getlovely.app.
Lovely is operated from the United States. If you access the app from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using Lovely, you consent to this transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of Lovely after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
